Welcome to Iveing House
The property is approached down four steps from the private driveway where there is parking for three vehicles
We have been welcoming lovers of the Great Outdoors for many years. For more than 70 years, it operated as a hostel. Converted to premium group accommodation in 2020, the very useful boot room, large catering kitchen, huge dining room and plentiful supply of showers have been retained.
Many original features have been lovingly restored, including fireplaces and wooden shutters.
Kitchen
Updated from its hostel days, the kitchen usefully retains many features to cater for large numbers.
Well-stocked with crockery, pots and pans, the kitchen contains a gas range cooker with large oven and five ring gas hob.
There’s also a separate electric grill, a microwave, a large American style fridge-freezer, two toasters, two large sinks with draining boards.
The hot water urn ensures a constant supply of tea and is perfect for easily making 16 drinks in one fell swoop!
We loved gathering around the cosy kitchen table to plan our next day’s adventures.

Dining Room
With light flooding through the large windows and illuminating the original plaster ceiling, the dining room is a special space.
The wooden floors complement the marble fireplace c1800, creating a characterful ambience that comfortably accommodates your entire group.
The patio doors open out onto a small private hedged area. With its two low benches and small bistro table, it’s the ideal spot to break away from the crowd and watch the sun go down.
We liked how the tables could be arranged flexibly to comfortably seat all 16 of us in any configuration. It even meant we could group the kids together on a separate table. Bliss!

Lounge and snug
Round off a day on the fells or the lakes by cosying up in front of the wood burner stove in the lounge. Starter box of logs provided.
Or enjoy a classic film or the latest box set binge on the smart TV.
Alternatively cuddle up with a book and a glass of wine in the adjoining snug.
Boot room and store
In addition to the large boot room, there is a laundry / storage room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink, offering secure storage for up to three bikes.
The large boot room was brilliant. It was so handy for drying off the muddy dogs and storing and drying our wet outdoor gear.

Bedrooms
Wake up to the wonder of nature, with all bedrooms enjoying a superb west facing aspect towards Loughrigg, Todd Cragg and the surrounding Lakeland fells.
Split over two floors, accommodating eight on each floor.
First Floor
On the first floor are four generous bedrooms, with original feature fireplaces and large picture windows with fell views. There is one king size and one twin bedroom, both with wash basin. The family bedroom features both a four-poster and single bed. There is also a single bedroom with a pretty picture window.
Second Floor
Stargaze through the Velux windows and catch the mountaintops. The king-size bedroom has a wash basin and offers a dual vista to also include Wansfell Pike. A single bedroom and a dorm style bedroom with 5 single beds complete the sleeping accommodation.
Bathrooms
A plentiful supply of WCs and showers is spread across both floors, meaning you never need to queue!
There are also four separate WCs.
The side by side showers were great. They meant we could get ready together, enjoy a glass of fizz with our favourite tunes playing!
